We all love old machinery. When we use an old machine for its intended purpose, we share a connection with the people who originally designed and operated it, sometimes long before we were around.  We recover a little bit of what Proust called “lost time”.

I’m what you would call a dedicated hobbyist when it comes to machine repair. I’ve been at it for over ten years and have had a blast. I have also made my share of mistakes. I enjoy watching the work of others as they tackle machine restoration projects, and decided to share my experience with a few of my own projects as one way to give back.

I’m not a great YouTube content creator, and message boards are somewhat limited in how you can author content, so I thought I’d go with an old-fashioned blog. I hope you find something valuable, or at the very least, are entertained by the errors and omissions.

I don’t check the address regularly, but can be reached at sententiousadieu at gmail dot com.
